INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The same man suspected of shooting an Indianapolis police officer in the head now faces two murder charges in the slayings of a man and a woman.
Marion County Prosecutor Carl Brizzi filed two counts of murder Wednesday against 36-year-old Brian Reese for the July 8 shooting deaths of 28-year-old Crystal Jenkins and 22-year-old Demetrius Allen.
Brizzi says Reese’s father told officers his son went to the house where the victims’ bodies were found to buy crack cocaine and that when he returned he said he had shot two people.
Reese already was charged with murder, robbery, burglary and handgun charges in the July 6 killing of 69-year-old Clifford Haddix.
Reese is being held in the July 10 shooting of Officer Jason Fishburn. The 29-year-old Fishburn, who remains in critical condition, was shot while attempting to arrest Reese in Haddix’s killing.
