Published July 08, 2008 07:52 pm - ANDERSON — Madison County has been approved by the Federal Emergency Management Agency for individual assistance in recovering from this spring’s storms. 7:52 p.m.: Madison County OK'd for federal storm help INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Another Indiana county has been approved by the Federal Emergency Management Agency for individual assistance in recovering from this spring’s storms.
State officials announced today that Madison County became the 40th county eligible for individual help. That includes grants for temporary housing, home repairs and other disaster-related expenses. It also includes low-interest loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration. The help is available for people affected by the tornadoes, flooding and other severe weather that happened May 30 and afterward. Homeowners, renters and businesses can apply by calling 1-800-621-FEMA. Other counties approved for individual help include Hamilton, Marion, Johnson, Bartholomew and Vigo.
