KOKOMO — Two top Obama administration officials are headed to Indiana to visit Kokomo, which has been hard-hit by the crisis in the nation’s automotive industry.
The man who’s leading President Barack Obama’s efforts to help auto towns and workers will discuss the federal recovery efforts Thursday during a visit to Kokomo.
Ed Montgomery will be joined by U.S. Small Business Administration chief Karen Mills in his visit to the central Indiana city, which has four Chrysler plants that employ about 5,000 workers.
They’ll meet with workers, small business owners, labor officials and others to discuss how the federal government can get help more quickly to auto communities and small businesses.
Indiana Sen. Evan Bayh and U.S. Rep. Joe Donnelly will take part in the meetings.
