CINCINNATI — Tristan Cork kicked a school-record tying 46-yard field goal with six seconds left to give Anderson University a 10-9 victory over Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Mount St. Joseph on Saturday at Schueler Field in Cincinnati.

Cork’s boot came on the heels of a 15-play, 70-yard drive that started from the Ravens’ own 1-yard line with 2:34 left in the game. Seven plays on the drive were runs, six were passes and two were to kill the clock by spiking the ball.

Darryl Stott, who had five carries for 24 yards on the final drive, finished the game with 24 attempts for 160 yards, including a 5-yard TD in the second quarter to give the Ravens a 7-3 lead at the half.

John Sims had 79 yards rushing on just eight carries, including a 54-yard run, and Terrence Perkey added 26 yards rushing on six carries. AU finished the game with 247 rushing yards on 42 attempts compared to 122 on 43 rushes by Mount St. Joseph.

Mitch Grider finished the game 12-of-21 for 109 yards, including 4-of-5 for 37 yards, on the final drive. He also had a key two-yard run on third down to give the Ravens a first down at the Lions’ 34-yard line.

Zach Duke led the receiving corps with four catches for 31 yards and Chris Russell added three receptions for 46 yards.

AU finished the game with 356 total yards of offense compared to 264 for Mount St. Joseph. The Ravens also intercepted two passes in the game, including one by Kaleb Donahue, who leads the team with four picks.

Ryan Hildenbrand led the defense with 10 tackles, including one tackle-for-loss. Luke Hurst and Michael Capstick had nine tackles each and Jeremiah Townsell and Donahue added eight stops each. Cory Perrin also had an interception.

Cork had an eventful game, which included two missed 41-yard field goals, including one that hit the upright. He also had a punt snap go over his head, but still managed to kick the ball 58 yards from his own 10, resulting in a net punt of 22 yards.

The victory was the first for the Ravens over the Lions in five years and marks their first three-game HCAC winning streak since 2003-04.

AU (3-2, 2-0 HCAC) hosts Franklin on Saturday for Homecoming. The game will be carried live on the Internet broadcast from Macholtz Stadium at 1:30 p.m.

The Wildcats won by scores of 25-17, 26-24, 22-25 and 25-7. Jessica Berlin led the Ravens with 19 kills, 10 digs, four service points, and Kasey Bollier had 42 assists, eight service points and seven digs. Carol Weatherford had six kills, five digs, five service points, two blocks, and Rachel Peli had 12 digs and four service points. Kate McCollum had eight kills, three digs, and Allee Donaghy seven digs. Caitlin Morency added 22 digs, three service points, and Tara Denham 10 kills. AU (12-13, 4-1 HCAC) hosts Defiance on Wednesday and will be carried live on the Internet broadcast at 7 p.m. It is also Dig For The Cure Night for increased breast cancer awareness.
