MOUNT SUMMIT — Shenandoah’s volleyball team defeated Knightstown and Tri on Saturday to win the Henry County Tournament sweeping both matches.
Shenandoah defeated Knightstown, 25-21, 25-16 and 25-20. The Raiders then downed Tri for the championship 25-15, 25-18 and 25-19.
On the day, Tara McSherely had 29 kills and served up eight aces to lead Shenandoah. Yardley Collett dished out 38 assists for the Raiders. Mackinzie Cox had 26 digs. Emily Eller had six blocks.
Argylls split at Grant Four Tournament
Madison-Grant lost to Eastbrook in three games (25-21, 25-22, 29-27) and beat Mississinewa in four games (23-25, 25-15, 25-15, 25-19) at this year’s Grant Four Tournament.
For the tournament, Courtney Stephens led with 21 kills. Lindsey Hudson had 26 digs. Brooke Poe had 44 assists and eight blocks. Lacey Little served up five aces.
Lions 1-3 at Edinburgh
Liberty Christian went 1-3 on the day at the Lancer Invitational, losing to Hauser (25-14, 25-14) and Monrovia (25-22, 25-18) before downing Sheridan in two games (26-24, 25-15).
For the Lions, Erika Lindley had 11 kills and two blocks. Riley Ramsey had 19 assists and served up three aces. Hannah Whitaker had 11 kills and four aces. Karon Earley had 19 assists and 10 kills. Shelly Lehman had 21 digs and four aces. Allison Nuce had 13 digs for Liberty Christian.
The Lions (10-18) are at Anderson on Tuesday for a 6 p.m. match.
