AREA ROUNDUP: Shenandoah nabs thirds straight tennis sectional

NEW CASTLE — Shenandoah’s girls tennis team won its third straight sectional title, and seventh in school history, Saturday with a methodical 5-0 win over Blue River for the New Castle Sectional crown.
The Raiders’ Lauren Wilson dominated her No. 1 singles match, winning, 6-0, 6-0. Mariah Smith won at No. 2 singles for Shenandoah, 6-0, 6-2, while Kelly Ray won by a 6-3, 6-2 margin at No. 3 singles.
Alyssa Bennett and Cassidy Miller teamed up for a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles for the Raiders, while Brittany Webber and Morgan Dilling took a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 2 doubles.
Shenandoah will play the Richmond Sectional champion in the second game of the Richmond Regional on Tuesday.
Marion Sectional
Marion 5, Madison-Grant 0
The Argylls’ season ended with a 4-12 record after Saturday’s Marion Sectional championship match against the host and defending regional champion Giants.
Baseball
Anderson 5-7, Huntington North 6-6
The Indians remained at .500 in North Central Conference play and ran their overall record to 15-8 with a doubleheder split with the Vikings in which both games went nine innings.
Huntington North took the first game, 6-5. Nolan Earley and Daniel Puckett each drove in two runs for the Tribe, while Tyler Campbell went 2-for-3.
Zachary Bucci drove in the game-winning run in the second game with a ninth-inning single for Anderson. Jake Vicars went 2-for-5 with a three-run homer, while Zach Gooding went 3-for-5.
