Wednesday's prep sports roundup: Argylls closes in on CIC title

Madison-Grant moved within one win of clinching a tie for the Central Indiana Conference softball title with a 10-4 win over Eastbrook Wednesday.

Cady Riggs had a two-run home run and Dana Runyan had three hits, including a double for the winners.

The Argylls (16-3 and 5-1) visit CIC foe Mississinewa today.

Anderson 6, Richmond 0

Johnna Rebenack blanked the Red Devils on two hits as the Indians dumped their North Central Conference foe.

Jordan Herrington helped AHS with a home run as one of her two hits. Other Indians with two hits included Anna Lacey, Chrissy Stephens and Morgan Jarvis.

Western 12, Elwood 2

The Panthers allowed nine runs in the first inning and never recovered in the five-inning loss.

Heather McPhearson and Kristen Hibst each drove in a run for Elwood (6-9).
