From Staff Reports

CONNERSVILLE — Junior pitcher Lauren Williamson pitched a perfect game for the Highland softball team Saturday as the Scots swept a doubleheader from Connersville to wrap up the Olympic Athletic Conference title.

In a 3-0 victory in Game 2, Williamson allowed no hits or walks and recorded 19 strikeouts. Katie Lee was 3-for-3 at the plate for Highland (16-4), which is now 5-1 in OAC play.

Game 1 saw the visiting Scots pound out 14 base hits and Lee take care of the pitching chores, allowing five hits and striking out seven Connersville batters while not allowing a walk in a 12-4 romp.

Catcher Jarah Ice and Krista Davis were both 3-for-4 at the plate for Highland, while Lee and shortstop Stormy Holder both notched two hits.

“Our girls came out really focused to carry on the tradition of HHS softball in the conference,” said Scots coach Doug Holder. “Every girl played with passion.”

Pendleton Heights 8, Shelbyville 4
