Jake Groninger and Blake Stephenson were part of a three-way medalist logjam and it was enough to push the Arabians past Anderson 163-184 Monday at Edgewood Golf Course.
Groninger and Stephenson each carded a 39 as did Anderson’s Patrick Freeman. The Arabians had three others break 50 (Tyler White 43, Michael Maxwell 48 and Jordan Wise 49) compared to two for the Indians (Kyle Cantrell 47 and Austin Amos 48.
The win lifted PH to 3-4 and the defeat dropped AHS to 2-7.
Softball
Lapel 14, Daleville 4
Leigh Murphy had two hits and drove in two runs to pace the Bulldogs to a five-inning victory.
Lapel (4-10) got a pair of hits from Kayleigh Schroeder and Kourtney Allender. Sara Montgomery had a home run while Rachel Tarlton had a triple and drove in two runs.
Center Grove 2, Pendleton Heights 1
Lindsey Beisser allowed only four hits and struck out six but the two runs she gave up were more than the Pendleton Heights offense could muster on Saturday.
Tiffany Held did much of the PH damage with a single, double and a home run. The Arabians are 14-5 and ranked No. 10 in the latest coaches’ poll.
Girls tennis
Tigers third in CIC meet
Alexandria had two players with winning records as the Tigers won two matches and lost one in Central Indiana Conference action Saturday.
The Tigers placed third behind 2-1 records from the top two singles players, Melissa Montgomery and Abbe Cox.
Baseball
Daleville 11, Liberty Christian 1
The Broncos got a double, two runs and two RBIs from Cody Walters in a five-inning win over the Lions.
