ANDERSON — The 13th-ranked Highland girls tennis team remained unbeaten and improved to 13-0 after winning its own invitational Saturday.
The Scots dropped just one of 15 matches, defeating Blue River 5-0, Muncie Burris 4-1 and Northwestern 5-0.
Alex Hammel swept her No. 1 singles matches for the Scots, dropping just seven games in the process and winning all three matches in straight sets. Mercy Scott, meanwhile, lost just one game, winning twice by 6-0, 6-0 tallies. Abby Beard won both of her No. 3 singles matches, losing only three games.
Kelsey McFadden and Ashlan Allison each won their No. 1 doubles matches in straight sets, and the Scots used three different No. 2 doubles combinations including Michaela Hammel, Alaina Coplin, Emily Jones and Beard en route to three more straight-set wins.
Raiders edge Bulldogs in WRAC match
Lapel posted a pair of 3-2 wins before losing the championship to Shenandoah 4-1.
Emily Putnam, the Bulldogs No. 3 singles player, went unbeaten on the day. Jill Gentry and JoJo Gentry were unbeaten until losing in the title match. Lapel is now 3-7 on the season. No other Shenandoah information was available.

Connersville 10-8, Highland 0-5
The Scots were limited to two hits in the opener and had a second-game rally fall short in losing an Olympic Conference doubleheader.
In the nightcap, Brad Kendricks had three hits while Kaleb Ogden had two hits including a home run for the Scots (4-8).
