PH softball No. 1 in Class 4A

— Pendleton Heights’ softball team is ranked No. 1 in Class 4A in the latest Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association rankings, which were released Tuesday.
The Arabians (9-0) won the Madison County Tournament on Saturday and are playing in Class 4A for the first time. PH spent much of last season ranked No. 1 in Class 3A as well.
The vote was far from unanimous. PH edged Center Grove (7-0) by one point. Both teams received three of the nine first-place votes.
The Madison County area was well represented in the rankings. Frankton (5-1) is fifth in Class 2A, while Madison-Grant (5-2), Alexandria and Shenandoah (1-4) received votes. Highland (4-3) received votes in the 4A rankings.
