Anderson Black Expo kicks off Summer Festival

Breakfast at Anderson University brings out community

Tony Kirkland, senior advisor of affairs to Gov. Mitch Daniels, offered his personal assistance to those present.

“We’re trying to do things to make the state work,” Kirkland said. “I always tell people that if you don’t utilize me, that’s your fault. Your tax dollars pay me.”

Anderson Black Expo Summer Festival 2006 Schedule

Thursday

* Talent showcase at Anderson Elementary School

Admission $6, doors open at 6:30 p.m.

(Final audition Tuesday, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Wilson Boys & Girls Club)

Friday

* Park opening ceremony/amusement rides open at 5 p.m. Music by DJ Mingo Vontress

* Talent show winners showcase at 8 p.m.

* Park closes at 11 p.m.
