ALEXANDRIA — During November, the Alexandria Library has lots of events planned for people of all ages.
For the kids there will be a “Make & Take Craft: Thanksgiving!” program on Monday from 4 to 5 p.m. This event is for kids ages 3-12.
The Tween Club meets on Tuesday from 3:30 to 5 p.m. for loads of exciting fun. This program is for kids ages 8-12.
Finally, on Monday, Nov. 16, from 4 to 5 p.m., the Kids Genealogy Club will meet to help kids learn about family history. This event is for kids grades kindergarten through fifth.
For teens and kids from fifth grade and up, the library has several events planned for the month.
Each Wednesday is Wii Wednesdays from 3:30 to 5 p.m.
Patrons can show their latest dance moves at DDR on Thursday, Nov. 19, from 3:30 to 5 p.m.
Also, Online Game Night will be on Friday, Nov. 20, from 5 to 9 p.m. Sign-up is required for this event and is limited to 12 kids. All teen programs are for kids fifth grade and up.
Last but not least, there are activities planned for adults.
There’s a “Computer Class: Library Catalog” set for Thursday, Nov. 12, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This class will teach the ins-and-outs of using the Evergreen Indiana catalog. Sign-up is required and is limited to eight people.
The 55+ Club meets on Tuesday, Nov. 17, from 2 to 4 p.m. for an afternoon of friends, fun and games. The new Wii for Seniors program will be Thursday, Nov. 19, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. At this program, seniors can have fun and exercise at the same time while using the Nintendo Wii game system.
Rounding out the month, The Booked for Tuesdays book discussion group meets to discuss “The House at Sugar Beach” by Helene Cooper on Tuesday, Nov. 17, from 6 to 7 p.m.
The library will be closed on Wednesday in observance of Veteran’s Day. The library will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 25, and will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 26, for Thanksgiving.
