MIDDLETOWN — The Middletown Public Library will forgive any overdue fines of its patrons if they donate items to the Middletown Food Pantry.
The library is currently conducting its annual “Cans or Cash” drive for the local food pantry.
Library director Teresa Dennis decided to encourage more giving with this new incentive.
“We have had a lot of changes this year as we switched to the new Evergreen Indiana Program,’’ said Dennis. “But we want our patrons to know that we are still their friendly local library. And we want everyone to be able to use our library.”
How much food do patrons need to bring in? “Let their hearts be their guides,” said Dennis.
The offer is good through Nov. 21 when the food drive concludes.
For information or to check on a patron’s overdue status, call the library at 354-4071 or visit at 780 High St.
