Arts Kaleidoscope opens in Muncie

MUNCIE — A “marriage” of 40 Indiana artists with 33 published poets from Indiana is taking place in Muncie in the “Arts Kaleidoscope: Art, Poems & Videos” exhibit at Gallery 308. The exhibit continues through Oct. 31.
Anderson area poet Mary M. Brown is one of the published artists participating in the event at Gallery 308, 308 E. Main St., Muncie.
On Saturday, poetry readings and video will be featured from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Cornerstone Center for the Arts, 520 East Main St.
The exhibits and the Saturday Festival events are free; however, there is a pay-at-the-gate catered luncheon under tents from noon to 2 p.m. in the parking lot east of Gallery 308.
Cosponsoring the event with Gallery 308 is the Community Foundation of Muncie & Delaware County.
As part of the opening, Gallery 308 will have a memorial exhibit, “Remembering Mildred Trivers & the Humpback Barn,” which will run simultaneously with Arts Kaleidoscope’s “Art & Poems” show.
Regional artists showing at the Gallery through Oct. 31 are Kim Anderson, Scott Anderson, Mezzie Ash, Walt Bistline, Sharon Bowman, Nancy Brown, Carol Burt, Mary Carmichael, Joshua Chatwin, Juli Eflin, Jim Faulkner, Karen Fisher, Robert Flory, David Franklin, Pat Garofolo.
Also showing are Jeanette Gilbert, Marc Girouard, Paul Grant, Ken Heinen, Bill Inman, Ann King, Pat Kowalski-King, Katie James, David Johnson, Sarojini Johnson, Amelia Morris, Sally Myers, Ted Neal, Pat Nelson, Alan Patrick, Sheila Piazza, Sherry Powell, Margie Primm, Mary Ann Rahe, Hattie Stanton, Mike Statler, China Swartz, Brie Thompson, Carol Strock-Wasson and Jay Zimmerman.
