FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 5, 2008

— Annual Fall Creek Heritage Fair — 9 a.m. to dusk Friday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Falls Park, Pendleton. There will be lots of arts, crafts and food. Auctioneer Charlie Breese will call a craft auction at 11 a.m. Saturday; local artist Jane Langdon will be doing a one-of-a-kind watercolor on the south side of Historic Downtown Pendleton building to be raffled off by the Century and a Half Club.

— Friends of the Pendleton Community Library book sale — 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Pendleton Community Library.

— A selection of works from Indiana artist Sally Hunt, a former director of the Anderson Public Library — Friday through Sept. 27, at Flashlight Gallery, John Waldron Arts Center, 122 S. Walnut St., Bloomington. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The exhibit of more than 30 works marks the first retrospective of Hunt’s work. She was an active poet and painter whose love of nature copies through in her oils, sketches and sculpture.

— Wild Music: Sounds & Songs of Life — through Sunday, Minnetrista Cultural Center, Muncie. Visitors of all ages are invited to expand their understanding of what makes music. They’ll discover how nature’s “musicians” create distinct musical masterpieces to communicate with and relate to one another.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 6, 2008

— Seventh annual Family Fun Festival — begins at noon, Fortville Church of the Nazarene, Fortville Pike, Fortville. Various activities throughout the day including inflatables, hay maze, concessions, free games, prizes, large tricycle races, carriage and pony rides, cake walk, face painting and more. Hog roast, 5:30 p.m.; corn hole tournament; fireworks, 8:30 p.m.; entertainment, 1 p.m. The Echoes; 3 p.m., Heritage Singers; Live Fish, 7 p.m.; and community health fair, 1-4 p.m.

— Back to School Bash — noon-6 p.m., First Baptist Church, 907 N. Raible Ave., Anderson.

— Psychic Fair — noon to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Pyramid of Enlightenment Spiritual Center, 8101 E. Washington St., Indianapolis. For more information call (317) 899-7590.

— Citywide jam session hosted by Second Time Around Band — 3 p.m., 1820 Locust St., Anderson.

— Back to School BBQ — 5 to 7:30 p.m., Liberty Christian School Lion’s Den, Hillcrest Gym, Anderson.

— Jazz trumpeter Chris Botti in concert — 7:30 p.m., Emens Auditorium, Muncie. Tickets are $35 for adults and $10 for youth and can be purchased from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Box Office, Monday through Friday and two hours before the show and at all Ticketmaster locations.
