July 11: Candidates for 2009 4-H Queen

Parents: Chuck Allen and Jodi Gilbert
4-H projects, activities and awards: Horse and pony (awards, belt buckle and other small prizes); fifth place at Indiana State Fair in reining; and ribbons in western pleasure, halter, trail, reining, costume class and bareback class.
Other youth activities: At Frankton Jr/Sr. High School, I’m a member of the choir (and have been since seventh grade). This year, I was also cheerleader for the basketball team.
Hobbies: Riding horses, camping, riding my four-wheeler; hanging out with friends; and skating.
Future plans: I might either become a veterinarian, because I like animals, or try to become a model (my cousin was a model for Calvin Klein and I would like to be a model.)

School: Elwood Community High School
4-H Club: Blue Ribbon Aces
Parents: Jim and Jennifer Savage
4-H projects, activities and awards: Scrapbooking (champion and reserve champion), foods, child development, cake decorating, collections, recycling, veterinary science and Junior Leaders (one year).
Other youth activities: Elwood Panther Marching Band; Elwood Panther Guard; school mascot; cheerleader; concert choir; select girls ensemble; wrestling manager; tennis; swimming; attend New Beginnings Fellowship Church; volunteer at concession stands at all Elwood High School sporting events; Latin Club; and member of Class Steering Committee.
Hobbies: Singing, scrapbooking, knitting, guard, and spending time with family and friends.
Future plans: I hope to go to Purdue University to pursue a career in veterinary science.
