“Death Note” is coming to central Indiana.
Movie theaters in Muncie and Noblesville will be a part of a special two-day showing of the live-action film based on the popular manga graphic novel.
Muncie ShowPlace 12 (830 E. Princeton) in Muncie and Hamilton 16 IMAX (13825 Norell Road) in Noblesville will each show “Death Note” at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday.
VIZ Media, a publishing and animation company, has scheduled the film to open in 300 American cities, but for only two days.
“Death Note” is based on the graphic novel written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata. It was released in Japan in 2006.
The plot centers around a student, Light Yagami, who finds a notebook belonging to a death god named Ryuk. A human whose name is written in the notebook dies and Light uses the book to rid the world of evil.
