ANDERSON — For the past 10 years, Pam Coletti has worked in service to others - something she learned from her parents.
“I never remember my parent’s telling anybody ‘no’ when they were asked to help with something and that was a very good example for me as far as being involved with serving others,” she said.
“They always were involved in helping other people,” Coletti said.
Coletti was born in Anderson and graduated from Anderson High School and Ball State University.
She is married with two children. Coletti works as an underwriting adviser for Indiana Public Radio and volunteered for IPR for 10 years.
The 63-year-old Anderson resident was recently honored for her own contributions to the local community.
The Anderson Rotary Club honored Coletti with the Elmo Funk “Ideal of Service” Award.
The award was established in 1969 in celebration of Elmo Funk’s 50 years of service. It was also formed in celebration of the group’s golden anniversary.
Coletti was a natural choice for the award, according to Rotary Club President David Porter.
“She puts 100 percent effort in it. When she says she’ll get something done, she gets it done. She only missed one meeting all year long.”
Porter said Coletti earned the honor during her time as president of the Rotary.
“Last year, she was our club president and she was able to help turn our club back around. We were having a decline in membership. She helped steady the decrease,” Porter said.
Coletti says she believes in the work done by the club.
