Priceless projects
Liberty Christian students craft creative, unique items for auction
“Everybody helped,” said Whitaker.
“My favorite part was coloring and designing the squares,” added Pleninger.
Another unique project was done by Lynda Bergin’s second-graders which is an intricately woven tapestry depicting the front of their school.
“We took yarn and we made it,” said Gabby McKnight, 8. “There was a picture and we wove over it. It was really fun.”
According to Huff, approximately 25 items will be auctioned off live during the event and more than 200 items will be available to bid on through a silent auction.
The event will be held at Liberty Christian School’s elementary campus, 2025 Hillcrest Drive, Anderson, at 6 p.m. Friday. Tickets are $10 and include a 1950s-style full buffet with cheeseburgers, onion rings and the like.
“The students have worked so hard on these projects — they’re priceless,” said Huff. “And we’ve had so much help from parents. Everyone has done such a great job.”
