“Thoroughly Modern Millie” — through Saturday. A high-spirited musical romp through the roaring ‘20s filled with frisky flappers, dashing leading men and a dragon-lady villainess audiences will love to hate. Cynthia Royal with Lord of the Rings Shadowfax star Blanco — 6:30 p.m., covered arena at Memorial Park, New Castle. “Butterflies” 10th season at White River Gardens — through Sept. 2, Indianapolis Zoo. Thousands of free-flying exotic and native butterflies, combined with the gentle sounds of flowing water and soothing music, create a calming ambiance inside the Hilbert Conservatory. Free for Indianapolis Zoo members and included with regular zoo admission of $13.50 for adults and $8.50 for seniors 62+ and youth 2-12. Youths one and under are free, and parking is $5.
Hearthside Suppers — Friday through Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m., William Conner home, Conner Prairie. Guests warm up by a blazing fire and warm their hearts with a 19th-century cooking experience. $45 per person ($40 for members). Maximum of 12 persons per evening. Prepaid reservations are required.
