Well-known Christian artist Juanita Faas has toured the United States, played in Carnegie Hall and most recently, performed at the White House in December.

Now, she has volunteered her talents as an accomplished pianist to help raise funds for Operation Love Ministries Inc., a ministry that serves Madison County and produced services of $1 million last year including food assistance, food delivery, shelter security, financial assistance, financial counselor training, guardianship assistance program, payee assistance program and caregiving.

Faas will be playing 4 p.m. Sunday at Central Christian Church in Anderson.

“This is a great opportunity to hear great music and give back to the community,” said Don Billey, pastor at Main Street Church of God. “The best way to describe her sound is she takes inspirational music and puts her own style to it. It has a jazz feel.”

The concert is sponsored by the Alliance Churches of Operation Love, which consists of approximately 30 Madison County churches that committed to coming together for Operation Love.

Admission is free to Sunday’s event, but a freewill offering will be taken.

“The needs are always increasing, and an event like this allows us to meet more of those needs,” said Joy Plummer, executive director of Operation Love. “We always need financial donations. We did around $1 million in services last year, and we operate on a budget less than $140,000. What people give really touches others in our community.”
