ANDERSON — All of the team glory belonged to Hamilton County, but the individual honors were almost exclusively the property of Madison County.

Such was the story of the Highland Girls Golf Sectional at Grandview Golf Course on Saturday.

Hamilton Southeastern carted away the team title with 319 strokes followed by Noblesville with 337 and Fishers with 365. Those three teams advance to next Saturday’s New Castle Regional.

Of the four individuals not on those three teams who also advanced, three are from three different Madison County schools.

Pendleton Heights’ Lauren Patishall carded a 79, which was the third best score of the day, behind just the 71 from Noblesville’s Meaghan Potee and the 73 from Hamilton Southeastern’s Brooke Beagle.

Elwood’s Katie Huffman advanced with an 88 and Lapel’s Tabi Neff moved on with a 79. The Bulldogs missed getting their team into the regional by 13 strokes.

“From the get-go, Lauren played very well,” said PH coach Steve Taflinger. “She started with a par on the first hole and then a birdie. All of her drives were right down the middle of the fairway. She didn’t chip and putt great. She left three or four shots there but this is her best score for 18 holes this season.”

“I played with a lot more confidence this year,” said Patishall. “I believed I could do it. My iron shots were good for me today.”

Last year Patishall not only made the cut for the regional, but she also advanced to the state tournament.
