Imhof: Advice given as Christmas approaches
As Christmas approaches one thinks of the birth of Jesus Christ. Typically, over the years in America, Christmas has been a joyous occasion. Why has this been so? Different reasons exist, but I want to focus on the main reason. Jesus came to redeem mankind from eternal damnation. This, in itself, is the most celebratory message that mankind will ever hear. That is, if mankind will receive God’s plan of salvation.
Many will not receive this message because Satan traps many souls through a three-fold attack. First, he attempts to inflate the ego. Second, he pushes satisfaction of the flesh. Third, he appeals with the love of the world. Hell is full of souls who have fallen victim to these deceptive lures.
As Christmas approaches, I urge you to re-evaluate the main reason for the season. Consider God’s plan of salvation and what it means in your life. Reject the lures of the enemy and re-evaluate life’s priorities. Let this be a time of positive renewal in your life.
When your life is over will you hear from God, “Well done good and faithful servant,” or will it be, “Be gone from me for I know you not”? If it’s the latter, I assure you that despair will grip your soul in the truest meaning of the word for you will be eternally damned.
Get right with God. It’s the best advice that anyone could give you during this Christmas season. You’ll be the better for it.
