East Lynn marks Thanksgiving

Sunday East Lynn Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 522 E. 53rd St., will celebrate Thanksgiving Sunday in music and word at the 10:30 a.m. worship service. The Rev. Susan M. Cameron, senior minister, will preach the sermon “Remembering to Give Thanks.” based on Joshua 4:1-9, 19-24. Special music from the Chancel Choir will include “Enter Into His Gates” and “Joyfully We Praise Your Name.” The public is invited to attend.

Church Women United to meet

Church Women United of Madison County Area 8 invite women of the community to join them Monday, Dec. 1 at Harter House, 600 S. Main St., Anderson. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. with the program slated for 10 a.m. Guest speaker will be Pastor Dr. Arthur Jaggard of First Baptist Church of Anderson. Adult, children services at revival

Adult and children services will be held simultaneously at Redeemer Baptist Church at 7 p.m., Sunday through Wednesday. Dr. Phil Glisson will preach at the adult services while his wife, Teresa Glisson, leads the children services. All services are open to the general public. Glisson has been in evangelism for more than 30 years. He holds degrees from Union University, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Luther Rice Seminary. He has served as president of the Fellowship of Tennessee Baptist Evangelists, an officer of the Conference of Southern Baptist Evangelists and has preached at the Tennessee Baptist Convention Youth Evangelism Conference sub-meetings for 24 successive years. The “Jesus Movement” was sweeping the nation while Glisson was in college. This movement gave him multiple opportunities to serve as a youth evangelist and began his lifelong vocation of preaching evangelistic services. Serving alongside him, his wife, Teresa, developed a love for children’s ministries. Rev. Smith to speak Tuesday at AU

On Tuesday, Ann Smith, former missionary to Japan and Church of God Stateswoman, will be preaching in Miller Chapel at 11 a.m. for the School of Theology Chapel. Students Tim and Nikki Rech will lead worship, and Jason Gray will read scripture. The Rev. Mary Baker will serve as chaplain-in-residence.

Water In2 Wine to perform Sunday

Water In2 Wine will be in concert at Eastview Church of the Nazarene, 2552 E. 200S, Anderson, at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

Water In2 Wine is made up of Aaron and Jonathan Ashlock. They have produced three albums, and their latest release is entitled “Just Look Ahead.” More information is available from their Web site at www.waterin2wine.com.

Public invited to Restoration Sunday

Restoration Fellowship Ministries, 1207 W. Ninth St., Anderson, invites the city of Anderson to celebrate with them on Sunday at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. for the church’s 12-year anniversary. Theme for the services will be: “Having therefore obtained help of God. We continue unto this day.” The 10 a.m. service will have Pastor Kevin Jones of Kingdom Builders International Ministries of Indianapolis preaching.
