Knigga honored for superior work

Anderson area resident Connie Knigga, a restorative nursing aide at Edgewater Woods, has received recognized for her superior performance, attitude and work ethic. American Senior Communities, an Indiana senior housing and health care service, honored key employees with the Quest for Excellence award during a dinner and awards ceremony at the Fountains in Carmel. International motivational speaker Dan Clark congratulated the award recipients on their accomplishment and recognized them as examples to follow.

School district offers financial classes

South Madison Community School Corp. announced a new community education class beginning Tuesday at 6 p.m. The informative financial workshops will run as a series, covering a multitude of topics; the first is called Investment Principles. The one-hour workshops will be offered free and open to the public. A 30-minute question-and-answer session will be offered at the close of each session for those desiring to stay longer. The second informational workshop, Retirement Planning, is scheduled for Jan. 20, 2009.

Workbooks will be provided and will be led by professional financial advisers. Classes will meet in the South Madison Community School Corp.’s Administrative Services Center at 203 S. Heritage Way, Pendleton. Registration will be on a first come, first served basis and advance registration is required. Call (765) 778-2152 or e-mail to wthompson@smadison.k12.in.us to sign up.

Overman to speak to Society for Quality

The American Society for Quality, East Central Indiana, Section 904, will have Don Overman, founder and president of Overman & Associates, LLC, as its featured speaker for its Wednesday TEveritt 11/11/08 Nov. 19 meeting. The public is invited to the 6 p.m. dinner meeting, at the Sirloin Stockade near McGalliard and Morrison roads in Muncie. Pay the restaurant cashier when entering.

Overman will “set-up” a problem to solve as the pre-clinic and then spend the main speaker time solving the problem.

Richard May receives CPA honor 

Anderson resident Richard L. May has been awarded the Outstanding Community Service Award from the Indiana CPA Society. May is an active volunteer with the Society. He has served as a member of the ethics, litigation services, and accounting and auditing committees, and maintains a relationship with his state legislator as an INCPAS legislative key person. In his community, May offers his time and expertise to the United Way of Madison County. May is currently self-employed.
