‘Stars’ celebrities to be announced
The celebrities and sponsors of the Dancing Like the Stars 2009 event will be announced at the Holiday Ballroom Dance at the Hardacre Ballroom at the Paramount in Anderson on Tuesday, Nov. 25.
The Ballroom Dance will feature guest dancers Rog and Amy Greenawalt, National Ballroom 9 Dance Champions. This is the second Holiday Ballroom Dance, as a part of the Festival of Trees.
Dancing Like the Stars 2009 is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 31, at 7:30 p.m. in the Hardacre Ballroom.
Tickets for the Holiday Dance at the Haracre Ballroom on Nov. 25 are available for $12 at the Paramount Theatre Box office. For more details go to www.andersonparamount.org. Proceeds from the Festival are used for the continued preservation of the Paramount Theatre Centre, a brilliant 1929 Landmark.
Church bazaar set for Saturday
The Christian Women's Fellowship will host its first bazaar Saturday, Nov. 22, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Markleville East Christian Church, 124 Main St. Homemade chili soup, hot dogs, pie and drink will be served during with a freewill offering accepted. Money will be used to help families in need at holiday times. A variety of bazaar items will be offered for sale, along with home-baked items, candy and crafts. Thanksgiving and Christmas items will be available. Public invited.
Women’s League to meet Wednesday
The November meeting of the Women’s League of The Anderson Center for the Arts will be on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Art Center, 32 W. 10th St., Anderson. This meeting will be a week earlier than usual due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Emily Isenhour will present the program on the American flag — the history and care of it. She has been giving programs on the flag to all grades in the Anderson school system, and to various service organizations and clubs for several years. The public is invited to attend.
‘Dancing with the Stars’ arrives Jan. 15
“Dancing with the Stars – The Tour” performs at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Jan. 15.
The fourth “Dancing with the Stars” tour features an entirely new ensemble of the most popular and exciting competitors from the hit ABC show, including celebrities Lance Bass, Toni Braxton and Maurice Greene from Season 7, as well as Marlee Matlin from Season 6. Basket bingo to be held on Thursday
Psi Iota Xi Basket Bingo will be held Thursday at Shenandoah High School the cafeteria. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the first game at 7 p.m. This is a smoke-free event. Cost is $15 for 15 games and you must be 18 to participate.
