Mark, a Madison County 4-H member, has participated in the 4-H Youth Development Program for eight years.
He is the son of Rob and Jane Loose of Anderson and is a junior at Anderson High School.
Because of winning, he also was awarded a State Fair 4-H Achievement Trip to Washington, D.C., sponsored by the Indiana State Fair Board.
Richart achieves diabetes educator certification
Michelle Richart has achieved certified diabetes educator status from the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators.
As an educator, Richart instructs patients in Saint John’s Outpatient Diabetes Self-Management Program.
Richart completed the certification examination for diabetes educators and met rigorous credential and professional practice experience requirements. Achieving the CDE credential demonstrates to people with diabetes and employers that the health care professional possesses distinct and specialized knowledge, thereby promoting quality of care for people with diabetes.
She has been with Saint John’s for 20 years. She served for many years as a clinical dietitian.
A native of Indianapolis, she graduated from Roncalli High School. She earned her bachelor of science degree in dietetics from Marian College and her master’s in science education from Vanderbilt University.
Governor appoints Huntsinger to Indiana State board
Amy Huntsinger of Frankton was appointed to the Board of Trustees at Indiana State University by Gov. Mitch Daniels.
Huntsinger, a junior public relations major, will serve a two-year term on the board.
Huntsinger is the daughter of Dennis and Cathy Huntsinger of Frankton and a 2005 graduate of Frankton High School. She is a member of Chi Omega, director of public relations for College Republicans and a Learning Community peer assistant at ISU.
