Markleville East welcomes pastor
The Markleville East Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) would like to invite the community Sunday to welcome Pastor Mike Srbljan to the church family. The 10:30 a.m. service is his sermon titled “Blest Be The Tie,” and the theme will be sharing our stories for future generations, scripture reading will be taken from Psalms 78:1-4 and 12-16 (NRSV). There will be special music provided by Daniel Troup from the Christian Center, Anderson.
Following worship, there will be a pitch-in lunch in the basement Fellowship Hall. All are welcome to bring a covered dish to share; drink and table service will be provided. For further information, call the church office (765) 533-4996 or Linda Kirk (765) 533-4345.
Ministers Quartet in concert Sunday
The Huntsville/Good Shepherd Church, 3126 W. Market St., will present The Ministers Quartet during the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship service. The public is invited to attend. The pastor is Rev. Claude Creel.
Missionaries speak at Cent. Wesleyan
Central Wesleyan Church will be holding its annual Missions Weekend Saturday and Sunday. Special speakers are career missionaries Tom and Lydia Hines, currently under appointment with The Wesleyan Church to Ecuador.
There will be a dinner at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the Bateman Community Center. Tom and Lydia will also be speaking at both services on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. The church is located at 24th and Delaware streets. Rev. Ken Sandefur is the pastor. The public is invited.
Apologetix at Aletheia Oct. 10
Apologetix will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, at Aletheia Fellowship, 2505 Faith Drive, Anderson.

Contemporary service on Sunday
The Chesterfield Christian Church Disciples of Christ, 207 E. Plum St., will offer a more complete contemporary service than usual this Sunday with the theme built on one of Paul’s letters to the church at Philippi using the text Philippians 2:1-13. The Praise Band will be featured on all music and includes Aaron and Courtney Bettner, guitarists; Martha McNeil, pianist; and Mark Maynard, percussionist. Lisa Benefiel will serve as song leader.
Also: the Annual Coats for Children giveaway will be Saturday, Oct. 18 from 8 a.m. until all coats have been distributed. Donations of gently used or new coats may be brought to the church between the hours of 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. However, persons may contact the church office at (765) 378-7896 to make other arrangements.
Annual Lay Day service Sunday
