Vermillion Friends revival starts Wednesday

The Vermillion Friends will host revival meeting Wednesday through Sunday at 7 p.m.

Special speakers will be Stephen and Nicole Cassidy. Featured music will be by the Messiah Bible Fellowship Ministers. At noon Sunday, there will be a carry-in dinner followed at 2 p.m. with a celebration service. The church is located at 2961 E. 800N, Alexandria. Madison needs holiday recipes

Madison magazine is looking for county residents to submit recipes they use for the winter holidays. The recipes, which must be specific and original, can be traditional family meals, desserts or special nogs. Also, Madison is looking for families who celebrate traditional holidays. If you make crafts for the holidays or have special ways that your family celebrates, please let us know. Submissions must be made by Aug. 29 and must include a contact phone number.

Chicken noodles Friday at VFW

The VFW Post 266, 3210 Columbus Ave., will serve a chicken noodles dinner from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Friday for $6 per person. The menu will include mashed potatoes, green beans and roll.

Phipps fundraiser planned for Friday

County Council candidate Mike Phipps will host a luncheon and vice presidential straw poll at Republican headquarters, located at 601 Meridian St., Anderson. The luncheon will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Cost is $5 per person. Lunch features chicken barbecue sandwiches, an assortment of sides, and desserts. Pendleton AMVETS dinner on Friday

The Pendleton AMVETS Post 26, 939 S. Broadway, Pendleton, is serving steak and fish dinners from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday.

Entertaining guests will be Alex Williams with his music from 7 to 10 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
