LifeStream open at new site Friday

LifeStream will host an open house Friday in its new location at 2535 E. 10th St., Anderson, in the Panorama Center.

The expanded space will allow more on-site appointments, provide staff with better work areas and enable further growth. The open house will be held from 2 to 4 p.m.

Church festival at Shadyside Sunday

The first of two Summer Festival at the Park events sponsored by Mounds Baptist Church will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Shadyside Park, Anderson, weather permitting. There will be free hot dogs and water, games for the kids (who receive tickets to redeem for prizes) clowns, puppets and live entertainment.

Hubie’s Legacy Ride on Saturday

On Saturday, the second annual Hubie’s Legacy Ride will take place. All are invited to celebrate the life of Hubie King III of Middletown, who was fatally injured on Aug. 10, 2003, when his motorcycle was hit by car participating in a drag race. The ride will begin at the Middletown Church of the Nazarene and will include three stops at other area churches.

Registration will begin at the Nazarene Church at noon, and the ride will begin at approximately 1 p.m. Cost is $10 per person, which includes the hog roast at the end of the ride. There will be T-shirts for sale at the church for $15 and hot dogs and soft drinks for $1. The final stop will be at the home of Tom and Becky Paulie, 3993 W. 900S, Pendleton. This is the location of the hog roast, entertainment and a live auction.

Those who don’t ride are encouraged to join in a car or just come to the ending location around 5 p.m. for the roast and other festivities. All proceeds will go toward the Hubie King Memorial Scholarship Fund, which was established last year to help others with the rising costs of higher education.

Healthy marriages subject of seminar

A seminar discussing “Health, Marriages and Family” will be offered Saturday at New Birth Worship Center, 403 W. 22nd St., Anderson. The seminar begins at 10 a.m. and is free to the public. Discussions will center on “Developing Healthy Relationships” and touch on such issues as the dating game, singleness, being single after 40, faithful marriage, love, intimacy and sex. A documentary film, “Soul Mate,” will also be shown. For information, call (765) 274-9458. Leila Kelley is the coordinator, and the Rev. Earlie Dixon is the pastor.

Legion planning car, cycle show

A car and motorcycle show will be held at the Pendleton American Legion Post 117, 611 W. State St. (Indiana 38 West) on Saturday, Aug. 16. Early registration by Sunday is $10. To register, call (765) 778-7661. Registration on the day of the show will be $12. Registration will take place from 10 a.m. to noon. All entries will receive a dash plaque. Top 10 awards will be presented at 3 p.m.

Job Fair set for Tuesday in Muncie

The 12th annual Sixth Congressional District Job Fair will be held Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Worthen Arena on Ball State University Campus in Muncie. This is a free event, and all Hoosier companies are invited to participate, organizers said in a press release. Each business booth will contain an 8-foot table with chairs. Businesses that have a trade show booth are encouraged to bring it. Electrical power and wireless Internet connections are available. Helium-filled balloons are not allowed. As a courtesy to those job seekers who visit the fair in the afternoon, businesses are asked to not close their booths before 4 p.m.
