Immunization clinic canceled June 3
The Madison County Health Department Immunization Clinics, normally held on Tuesdays, have been canceled on June 3, as the staff will be away for training, according to a press release from Becky Atkinson, RN, supervisor.
Fundraiser for North Side Middle School
Band and choir students from North Side Middle School will perform a free public concert Wednesday evening beginning at 7 p.m. in the school’s gymnasium. Starting at 5:30 p.m., the NSMS Parents Club will have concessions available and host a silent auction of about 30-themed baskets donated by local businesses, including restaurants, retailers and recreation. Money raised will go toward the school’s music, athletic and academic programs.
Applications available for Small Town USA Festival
Booth applications are available for the Small Town USA Festival, to be held in Alexandria on Oct. 3-5. Both indoor and outdoor space is available. Indoor spaces include electricity. The indoor 10-by-10 spaces are $60. Outdoor spaces are $50. Multiple spaces may be rented. Booths for crafts, commercial, antique, flea market and manufactured items are being accepted.
To obtain an application, call festival headquarters at (765) 724-3514 and leave your name, address and type of vendor. An application may also be downloaded from the festival’s Web site at www.smalltownusafestival.net. Deadline for application is Sept. 20.
This is the 21st year for the Small Town USA Festival, held annually in Beulah Park on Indiana 9 in Alexandria. The festival attracts about 20,000 visitors each year.
Elementary school hosts blood drive
A blood drive will be held Tuesday from 2 to 7 p.m. at Anderson Elementary School, 2035 S. Raible Ave., Anderson.
All donors at this blood drive will have the opportunity to enter a drawing for two Cedar Point tickets valid for the 2008 season.
Donors must be 17 years of age, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and are in good general health. All donors need to present positive identification. For more information, call (800) 448-3543).
Brown Bag Lunch slated for Wednesday
The Anderson Public Library announces the second round of the holiday entertaining Brown Bag Lunch series.
David Gillaspy will host this event from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday on the third floor of the library. The focus will be on picnic planning for holidays and other special events.
