Anderson celebrating 14th Earth Day-ArborFest Saturday
The Anderson Tree Commission and Parks & Recreation Department will be celebrating the 14th annual Earth Day-ArborFest from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Shadyside Memorial Park.
This event celebrates the beauty and wonder of the earth and all the trees in the environment. Organizers invite the public to come out and enjoy music, dance, food and time with a variety of exhibitors who share a common interest in the health of the environment and community. Learn about the ease of organic gardening, personal health issues, maintaining one’s vehicle to help protect the environment, adopting a loving pet and much more.
Virtual Scavengers will be on hand collecting any old computers or electronic equipment to be recycled or disposed of properly. Take a chance at a variety of donated items in the raffle. Fun activities for kids are planned. Free tree seedlings will be available while supplies last. Get a little bit dirty and help plant trees and flowers at the park.
