Lenten breakfast series continues
The 2008 Anderson Area Christian men’s Lenten breakfast series continues Saturday in the Ford Street United Methodist Church, 925 Ford St., Lapel. The service begins immediately at 8 a.m. and consists of a breakfast followed by an instrumental and vocal performance by the group Common Ground. The speaker will be the Rev. Rodney Eiler, who is the pastor of the Mount Olive Community Church in Muncie and founder of Common Ground.
All men, young and old are invited to attend the fifth breakfast of this series. Total cost: freewill donations only. The entire program lasts approximately an hour and a half.
Lapel Jazz Band to perform Tuesday
The Lapel Jazz Band will perform a concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Lapel High School Auditorium.
There is no admission charge, but donations will be accepted for the Lapel Community Food Bank’s Easter food baskets.

Abundance Meal set for Wednesday
The Christian Women’s Fellowship at the East Christian Church in Markleville will have its monthly God Abundance Meal from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday in the basement of the church.
The menu includes chili, peanut butter and honey sandwiches, celery and carrot sticks, cheese cubes, dessert and drink with a freewill offering taken.
The East Christian Church is located at 124 E. Main St. (Indiana 38), and is handicap accessible. Carryouts will be available; if you are a shut-in or small business and would like a carryout, call Mary V. Grandison at (765) 533-2374.
