Main Street Church of God and the Friends of Isaac have teamed up to organize an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner along with entertainment provided by various artists and an auction of goods that have been donated by local merchants.
Artists scheduled to appear during the benefit include Dana (Ausbun) Baker, Water IN2 Wine, Tom and Cody Looper and friends, Jenny Shurte, and Mark and Brenda Rench.
The benefit dinner will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the Fellowship Hall of the Main Street Church of God, 4211 Main St., Anderson.
All donations will be used for the benefit of the families of Isaac Knost and Cheyenne Hughes. All artists are donating their time as well, and all proceeds from this event will go directly to the families. The project goal is to raise $2,500.
Cheyenne is a 6-year-old girl who was born with a condition that causes frequent and recurrent tumors. Since her birth she’s had multiple surgeries, chemotherapy and intense radiation therapy. She will be entering a new treatment at IU Medical Center in Bloomington, where she will undergo radiation daily for seven weeks.
Isaac is 4 months old and was born with craniosynostosis, a syndrome which causes the cranial sutures to fuse prematurely. After diagnosis, the prescribed course of treatment includes several surgical procedures over the course of the next few years. His first surgery is scheduled for Jan. 9.
While the medical expenses of both children will largely be covered by insurance carriers, the associated travel and per diem expenses borne by their families will not.
Those unable to attend who would like to donate may send donations made out to the Main Street Church of God, Attn.: Kid’s Benefit.
