Downtown Golden House restaurant closed

— ANDERSON — Golden House Chinese Restaurant is closed for repairs, according to a sign on the door confirmed by the longtime downtown business’s owner Susan Mak. It is unclear when the business might reopen.
The Madison County Health Department did not have anything to do with the restaurant’s closing, Food Division Supervisor Stephanie Cain said.
Lori Sylvester, who works in downtown development for the city, said city officials had talked with Mark Alexander, who owns the block of buildings in the 1200 block of Meridian Street where Golden House is located. Sylvester would not say what the talks were about.
Alexander confirmed he owned the building occupied by Golden House, but said he didn’t know why the restaurant was closed.
