ALEXANDRIA — Brook Ranae Sayre, 19, of Alexandria, was injured in a traffic accident on County Road 1100 North on Monday. The right front tire of the 2002 Pontiac Sunfire dropped off the edge of the roadway, and Sayre lost control of the car when she attempted to steer it back onto the road, according to the police report.

The car struck a fence and a tree before coming to rest next to a barn on private property. Sayre was transported by ambulance to Community Hospital in Anderson for complaint of back pain, said Sheriff Ron Richardson. Assisting at the scene were Alexandria firefighters and ambulance.
