BREVINI: Opinions from the street

The Herald Bulletin

Alexandria residents were asked if they thought the more than 450 new jobs expected at Brevini’s Delaware County plant would benefit local people looking for work. The jobs pay an average of $46,000.

“The economy is really bad. It just is. $46,000, that’s a lot compared to most places around here.”

- Wendy Kissane, 27, student and restaurant worker

“Everybody wants a job. Of course, gas prices are high, but they want to work.”

- Sharon Baldwin, 62, postmaster

“That sounds pretty good to me. I’d be happy with that.”

- Ryan Carlson, 27, unemployed

“Any type of job is good, just about, I’d say.”

- Dewy Rushin, 83 retired

“I know a few people looking for work, and that would help.”

- Brandy Banham, 28, pre-school teacher
