The Chamber of Commerce for Anderson & Madison County will hold its annual dinner meeting on Thursday, Sept. 11, at Anderson Country Club. A cash-bar reception will begin at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30. 

Individual tickets are $45, and reserved tables of eight are $360. For reservations, call (765) 642-0264. 

The dinner will be highlighted by presentation of service awards to local firms who have been in business for a half century or more. Fifty-year awards will be presented to Carbide Grinding Co. Inc., Mofab Inc. and Nick’s Auto Service. In addition, Georgeann Whitworth of National City will receive the chamber’s second annual Character in Business Award.

Kevin M. Brinegar, president of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, will be the keynote speaker. Before being named to head the state’s largest pro-business advocacy organization in 2002, Brinegar served as senior vice president for government affairs and was the organization’s chief lobbyist. 

Brinegar received a bachelor’s degree in public policy administration, a master’s in public administration and a master’s in business administration from Indiana University.

Prior to joining the Indiana Chamber, he had been the majority fiscal analyst for the Indiana State Senate for eight years and a management analyst for the Indiana Legislative Services Agency. He is currently an elected member of the school board at Noblesville Community School Corp.
