10 a.m.: New stadium brings fans new food

The Herald Bulletin

The new home of the Indianapolis Colts, Lucas Oil Stadium, will offer fans a greater selection of concessions. But at a price.

According to the Indianapolis Star, the stadium will have more than 30 different food items. Fans seated in suites or at club level will have even more choices via a rotating menu.

Bacon-tempura-battered burgers, pork poppers and locally produced gourmet sausages on fresh-baked rolls will be available in these areas. Centerplate, the company that serves the stadium’s concessionaire, will serve Philly cheesesteaks, tenderloins, chicken fingers, meatball sandwiches, pork chops and more.

Lucas Oil Stadium will have 525 “points of sale” compared with 287 at the RCA Dome. It will also boast 778 beer taps.

The cost of jumbo pretzels, hot dogs and draft beer will all increase by 25 cents. A 20-ounce soft drink will now cost $4, versus $3.50 at the dome, while the prices of nachos and bottled water remain the same.
