ANDERSON — A motorcyclist seriously injured in a crash Wednesday between Elwood and Alexandria has been discharged from an Indianapolis hospital, while another motorcyclist injured in a separate collision Monday remains hospitalized.

Officials with Indianapolis’ Methodist Hospital said Thursday that 36-year-old Robert L. Sosbe, Indianapolis, had been released after he was taken there by helicopter from Community Hospital.

Sosbe suffered injuries to the back and front of his head after losing control of his 2002 Harley-Davidson motorcycle at about 6 p.m. Wednesday along Indiana 28, near County Road 450 West. The cause of the crash wasn’t immediately known, but Madison County Sheriff Ron Richardson said Sosbe accelerated just before he lost control while traveling westbound.

Meanwhile, Dewayne A. Hamilton, 32, Anderson, is in serious condition at Methodist.

Hamilton was driving a 1998 Suzuki motorcycle southbound on Indiana 67 when he collided with a pickup at the intersection with Market Street shortly before 5:30 p.m. Monday. The crash flipped Hamilton over the pickup, while his motorcycle came to a rest on the truck’s hood.

Hamilton was also taken by helicopter to Methodist, but witnesses said he was conscious shortly after the crash. The pickup’s driver was not injured.
