Midnight Parade: Judging results released

ANDERSON — Results of the judging of this year’s Midnight Parade have been reported by the parade committee.
Judges’ awards for the 2009 parade are:
Group Participation
— First place: Midwestern Researchers and Investigators of Paranormal Activity, Indianapolis
— Second place: Knights of Columbus
Marching Senior
— First place: Grover T. Oliver Post 266 VFW Color Guard
— Second place: Sons of the American Revolution
Motorized Unit
— First place: Madison County Sheriff’s Department (position no. 3)
— Second place: Elwood Little Miss Glass
Marching Junior
— First place: Anderson Steppers, Byvonda Hendrix
— Second place: Ricker’s
Float
— First place: American Bikers Aimed Towards Education
— Second place: APD Crime Watch
Best Decorated
— First place: Anderson Roll Arena
— Second place: White River Valley Balloon Fest
Marching Women
— First place: Ladies Auxiliary Veterans of Foreign Wars
— Second place, Ivy Rebekah Lodge
Winners may pick up their awards at the VFW at 3210 Columbus Ave., from noon to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
In a statement, the members of the Midnight Parade Committee thanked the city and “all those who helped make the 35th annual parade a success. In a non-election year, and especially in a ‘down’ economy, parade entries are always fewer, but we found this year’s entries to be fun, quality and representative of what Anderson/Madison County has to offer.”
