ANDERSON — Firefighters batlled a blaze Thursday night at Varsity Title, 2301 Main St.
According to Deputy Chief Dave Cravens of the Anderson Fire Department, preliminary reports indicate the cause of the fire was probably accidental, but an official determination would not be made for a few days.
Cravens estimated that the Varsity Title building was a total loss, with the building appearing to be fully engulfed when firefighters arrived.
“I went out there (Thursday) night about 11 o'clock, and it burned from the east side to the west pretty good,” Cravens said.
Six units of the APD were called to the scene: three engines, two ambulances and a rescue unit. Cravens said no injuries were reported as responders fought the fire for about five hours.
