9:41 p.m.: School bus rear-ends auto

An accident involving a school bus on Madison Avenue near First Street on Tuesday afternoon injured a woman. The driver of the vehicle, a 2000 Chevrolet Impala, was northbound on Madison Avenue and stopped in traffic. It was then rear-ended by a school bus, according to Anderson Police Department spokesman Detective Joel Sandefur. The bus was carrying no children. Phyllis Estelle, Anderson, the driver of the Impala, was taken to Community Hospital after complaining of back pain. The bus was driven by Mike Banner, Anderson.
