Gospel High Light’s 34th year celebrated
ANDERSON — Anderson Zion Baptist Church, 2008 Rev. J.T. Menifee St., will be the site of the Gospel High Light’s 34th year anniversary celebration at 4 p.m. Sunday. Deacon Ruben Borton and the Victory Travelers will be singing along with James Warner & Company and Obedience. Rev. Edgar Woodall will be preaching.

Choirs to combine at East Lynn Christian
ANDERSON — The Chancel Choirs of Sixth Street Christian Church of Middletown and East Lynn Christian Church, Anderson, will present “Covenant of Grace,” a cantata for the Easter season during the 10:30 a.m. Palm Sunday worship service at East Lynn, 522 E. 53rd St.
The 30-voice choir will be under the direction of Susan Smith. Narrators will be Connie Brown from Sixth Street and Tom Cameron from East Lynn.
Both congregations are of The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Ministers are Rev. C. Maynard Powell, Sixth Street, and Rev. Susan M. Cameron, East Lynn.

‘Watch the Lamb’ presented at Ingalls
INGALLS — The musical Easter drama “Watch the Lamb” will be presented by the Ingalls Church of God, 528 N. Meridian St., at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, April 11.

LaVerne, Edith Tripp in concert Sunday
ANDERSON — LaVerne and Edith Tripp will appear in concert at 6 p.m. Sunday at Gospel Light Chapel, 219 Gilmore Road.
The couple hosted the “Praise the Lord” program on the Trinity Broadcasting Network and have been involved in their ministry for over 34 years.

Final Lenten breakfast on Saturday
ANDERSON — The 2008 Anderson Area Christian Men’s Lenten Breakfast Series finalizes Saturday at the Madison Park Church Of God, 6607 Providence Drive in Anderson. The service begins immediately at 8 a.m. and consists of a breakfast followed by a performance of the Crossroads Quartet.
Speaker will be the Rev. Jim Lyon, senior pastor of the Madison Park Church of God.
This breakfast is open to men, women and children, and freewill donations will be accepted. The program lasts about 90 minutes.

Florida Station Holy Week programs
ANDERSON — The Florida Station Church of God will present the drama “How Great Thou Art” at 7 p.m., Friday, April 10 and Saturday, April 11 and at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, April 12. Easter service will be at 9:30 a.m.
The church will have a children’s Easter egg hunt from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 11.

Glad Tidings present Palm Sunday program
ANDERSON — Glad Tidings Assembly of God, 815 E. School St., will host a live presentation Sunday.
It will feature the GT Choir along with the GT Jr. Choir, with special guest Pat Stimson, who will be blowing the Shofar.

ANDERSON — George and Norma Smith will be in concert at 7 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church, 907 N. Raible Ave.
A freewill offering will be taken, and a reception follows in the Fellowship Hall.

New Hope pastor begins sermon series
ANDERSON — At New Hope Christian Church during the month of April, minister John Hannum will be preaching a series of sermons from 1 Corinthians 15. Its words are the foundation of our faith and by this gospel we are saved:
April 5: “Remembering the Gospel,” 15:1-11
April 12: Sunrise Service at 7:30 a.m. ”If There Is No Resurrection,” 15:12-19
April 12: Worship Service “Resurrection Truths,” 15:12-34
April 19: “The Resurrected Body,” 15:35-49
April 26: “Resurrection Day,” 15:50-58
Services each Sunday begin at 10:30 a.m. (9:30 a.m. for Bible classes). On April 12, we will also have Easter Sunrise Service at 7:30 a.m., followed by breakfast at 8:30 a.m.

First Christian sets Easter schedule
ALEXANDRIA — At 9:30 a.m. Sunday at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ, 215 W. Berry St., Alexandria, worshippers will gather at the Lutheran Church, 309 W. Washington St., for the traditional Procession of the Palms to the First Christian Church for the Palm Sunday Service with Rev. Lyn Childers, at the regular 10:30 a.m. worship hour.
On Thursday, at 6:30 p.m., The Last Supper will be remembered during the Maundy Thursday Service. Community Good Friday Service will be held April 10 at the Church of the Nazarene, S. Harrison St., at noon. Easter Sunrise Service, followed by breakfast in Robinson Hall at the First Christian Church, will be 7:30 a.m. April 12 Easter Sunday Service will begin at 10:30 a.m.

Collingsworth Family in concert April 12
FORTVILLE — The Collingsworth Family will be in concert on Easter Sunday at the Fortville Nazarene Church, 701 S. Maple St. There will be two services of Celebration in the sanctuary, one at 8:15 a.m. and another service at 10:45 a.m. There will be Sunday School classes for all ages at 9:45 a.m.

Trinity Episcopal sets Holy Week schedule
ANDERSON — Trinity Episcopal Church, 1030 Brown-Delaware St., announces services for Holy Week and Easter.
Palm Sunday: Liturgy of the Palms, 8 and 10 a.m.
Wednesday in Holy Week: Eucharist, noon, followed by soup lunch
Tenebrae (extinguishing of candles until a single candle, a symbol of our Lord, remains): 7 p.m.
Maundy Thursday: Holy Eucharist and Stripping of the Altar, 7:30 p.m.
Good Friday: Liturgy with Communion, 7 p.m.

Redeemer Baptist presents musical
ANDERSON — Redeemer Baptist Church, corner of Lindberg and Rangeline roads, presents Easter musical “Savior — Jesus Messiah” at 7 p.m. Sunday.
The musical, created by David Moffitt, Sue C. Smith and Travis Cottrell, features songs made popular by Chris Tomlin, plus narration performed by Melody Ivey. The program, directed by Pat Storm, features soloists Lawrence Filler, Leanna Hendricks, Melody Ivey and Pam Stafford. This free is open to the general public.

Holy Week begins at Central Christian
ANDERSON — Holy Week at Central Christian Church begins at 10 a.m. Sunday Pastor Rick Vale focusing on Jesus’ words taken from John 19:30. “It is finished.” Soloist Jordyn Friend will join the chancel choir.
The Good Friday service at 7 p.m. April 10 will be a service of candlelight and communion to commemorate the night of our Lord’s death.
Resurrection Day begins with an Easter sunrise service at 7 a.m. Everyone is invited to breakfast in Fellowship Hall at 7:45 a.m. At 9:15 a.m., there will be an Easter egg hunt for children.

First Presbyterian marks Palm Sunday
ANDERSON — First Presbyterian Church, 230 W. Ninth St., Anderson, invites all to celebrate Palm Sunday at our 8 and 10:20 a.m. services.
The liturgical dance team and youth choir will be leading the processional “Lift Up the Gates Eternal.” Dr. James Moneyhun and Amanda Grant will perform a clarinet duet of “Holy City,” and our chancel choir will sing ”Shout Hosanna to the King.” Interim Pastor Dave Comstock will give the message on “At the Top of the Roller Coaster.”

Daleville Christian Holy Week schedule
DALEVILLE — Maundy Thursday Service will be held at Daleville United Methodist Church at 7 p.m. and Good Friday Service will be held at Daleville Christian Church at 7 p.m.
Easter Services will begin at 7:30 a.m. with a Sunrise service followed by 9:30 a.m. worship service at Daleville Christian.

Madison Park Church to hold Easter services
ANDERSON — Madison Park Church of God, Columbus Avenue and E. 67th St., will celebrate Easter on Sunday, April 12 with two identical services at 9 and 10:45 a.m. in the main auditorium.
The services feature music from the Voices of Praise” Choir and a 55-piece orchestra, with classic Easter music and contemporary praise and worship music from The Madison Park Praise Band.

Imhof speaker on Easter at chapel
ANDERSON — Retired U.S. Navy Commander Michael Imhof will speak at Gospel Light Chapel, 219 Gilmore Road, at 7 p.m. Easter Sunday.
Imhof has returned to the U.S. after having served in Liberia and Sudan for a year.
