INDIANAPOLIS — An Indiana State Police trooper suffered a concussion when a car crashed into the back of his stopped patrol car along an Indianapolis highway.
Police say Trooper Mike Eland was investigating a crash involving an intoxicated driver along I-465 on the city’s south side around 3:40 a.m. Thursday. Police say Eland was sitting inside his squad car with his emergency lights flashing when a vehicle driven by a suspected drunken driver rear-ended his car.
Eland was transported to St. Francis Hospital and later released.
Police say the other drivers involved were arrested but their names were not immediately available.
