BEIJING (AP) — A state news agency says a fireworks explosion killed 22 people and injured 10 others in China’s northwestern region of Xinjiang.
The Xinhua News Agency said the accident took place Wednesday evening as authorities in the city of Turpan were destroying fireworks.
The brief report said the fire was extinguished.
