Emergency responders have blocked off some roads near the intersection of Indiana 13 and 800 South so a helicopter can land to transport a child struck by a car.
Madison County Sheriff Ron Richardson said the 10-year-old child was struck in the 8100 block of Cricket Lane, near the Summer Lake subdivision, shortly after 3 p.m. The child’s condition and gender was immediately available from authorities.
The PHI helicopter was expected to take the child to an Indianapolis hospital. Richardson said the MCSD Accident Investigation Team has not been called out.
Along with MCSD deputies, Ingalls first responders and the Madison County Emergency Management Agency were at the scene.
