Saint John’s Health System is offering a free women’s seminar, Celebration Saturday!, on April 12, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene, 23rd and Meridian streets in Anderson.
An annual event to educate and pamper women, Celebration Saturday! features educational seminars led by Saint John’s health professionals and a vendor/screening fair.  
This year’s event opens at 8 a.m. with registration and a continental breakfast. The vendor and screening fair from 8 a.m. to noon features demonstrations from a variety of area vendors, as well as information and screenings by Saint John’s Health System staff.
Educational sessions will be conducted throughout the day. From 10 to 11:30 a.m., participants will choose from: Fibromyalgia, by Dr. Kristine Rea, rheumatologist; Stroke Awareness, by Kristine Miller, physical therapist at Erskine Rehabilitation Center; and Women Who Do Too Much, by Connie Kellum, psychotherapist with Saint John’s Anderson Center.  
After a complimentary luncheon, keynote speaker Julie Barnhill will entertain and enlighten women with “You Go Gurrlfriend!” a humorous look at the role female friends play in women’s lives.  
Workshops resume at 1 p.m., when participants choose from “The New Way to Look at Cancer,” by Dr. Darrel Ross, radiation oncologist with Saint John’s Cancer Center; “Weighing in on Weight” with Gina Goodwin, and Michelle Richart, Saint John’s registered dietitians, and Laurie Etherington, physical therapy assistant; “Women’s Digestive Health” with Susie Bowen, R.N., Susan Rousey, R.N., and Sonya Roberts, L.P.N. of Saint John’s Digestive Diseases Center; or “Pain in the Neck or Back?” with Perry Luna, physical therapist at Erskine Rehabilitation Center.
A physician panel will end the day, providing an opportunity for participants to ask questions of Drs. Kevin Luksus, family practitioner; Heather Hill, psychiatrist; Denise Thompson, obstetrician/gynecologist; and Darrel Ross, radiation oncologist.
Participants are eligible for a free cholesterol/glucose screening prior to the event.  Sponsored by St. Vincent Heart Center of Indiana, the screening will be conducted through a fasting blood draw, schedule for specific times at Saint John’s Health System.  Results of the screening will be provided at the event. Individuals must attend the event in order to have the screening.
