The Herald Bulletin

INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard poured dye into the newly cleaned downtown canal Monday morning, turning it green for St. Patrick’s Day.

The canal was refilled with water last week after being drained for several months as workers cleaned muck and debris from the waterway that runs through the west side of the city’s downtown, including past the Indiana State Museum and the NCAA headquarters.

There will also be a St. Patrick’s Day parade through downtown Indianapolis Monday.

St. Patrick’s Day parades were held Saturday in South Bend and Terre Haute
